Getting a Car Rental at the Chicago Airport Doesn’t Have to Be a Nightmare

If you are fed up with the pain of traveling through airports, I know exactly how you are feeling. My job requires me to do a lot of traveling, so I literally spend anywhere from two to three weeks of every month traveling to different parts of the US. I really love what I do for a living, but I would be lying if I said there weren’t times when I get pretty burnt out with the traveling.

Because I’ve spent so much time traveling, I have picked up some tips on how to minimize the stress associated with traveling as much as possible. Although it will never be a completely stress-free experience, I’m doing a lot better with it than I was a year ago.

One of the best tips I’ve picked up for the Chicago Airport (which can be applied to any other airport) is to rent a car from a company that is actually located at the airport. By finding out what rental car companies are located in the Chicago Airport and then making a reservation with one online, you can be on your way within minutes of arriving at the Chicago Airport.

My Chicago Rental Car Experience

Last May, I took a trip to Chicago for three days. The reason for my trip was to see my niece graduate from the University of Illinois. Not only did my niece manage to get her Bachelor’s degree in only three years, but she also got accepted directly into Law School at the University of Illinois. As you can imagine, our entire family was very proud of her accomplishments, and was excited to see her receive her degree.

Although my sister told me that she would be happy to pick me up from the airport and drive me around, I decided that it would be easier for everyone if I simply got my own rental car. Prior to my trip, I got online and used Hotwire to get a really low rate on a rental car. When my flight arrived at the Chicago airport, I was able to get off and have my rental car within fifteen minutes. Not only did I get to enjoy attending my niece’s graduation, but having a rental car allowed me to visit a lot of great places throughout the city of Chicago (including the John Hancock Observatory and the Lincoln Park Zoo).

U-Save Offers Car Rental in Chicago

With great customer service and some of the best rates around, if you need a rental vehicle for a trip to Chicago, one company you should strongly consider is U-Save. While they are not as well-known as car rental companies like Budget or Hertz, U-Save is a reputable company that provides a great rental car experience.

Although I had never rented from U-Save before, when I was planning for a recent trip to Chicago, one of my friends told me several times that I should really take a look at what they have to offer. Since my friend was quite persistent, I eventually decided to check out their website. When I got to their website, I simply entered Chicago as my destination, and put in the times and dates of my arrival and departure. After I submitted my information, U-Save showed me the different rates and vehicles that were available. Since I was going to be the only person using the rental car, I decided to get a normal economy car. I completed my reservation online, and when I arrived in Chicago, I was able to get my rental car from U-Save in less than ten minutes.
