As you probably know, the United States economy is going through a very rough time. I have quite a few friends who have either lost their job, or are fairly confident that they will be losing their job in the coming months. Because of this, I feel extremely grateful that I still have my job.

About a month and a half ago, I got quite a scare when my boss called me into her office. I thought I was going to join my group of unemployed friends, but luckily my boss told me that a new position was opening up in Chicago, and I was on the short list of potential applicants to fill this position. She asked if I was interested, and I said yes. She then proceeded to tell me that she wanted me to go to Chicago for a couple of days to see if I could picture myself living there.

I took a three day trip to Chicago, and really enjoyed the experience that I had there. When I returned to work, I told my boss it was someplace I could definitely live. She told me it would still be awhile before a final decision was made, but I am very excited to find out in the coming weeks whether or not I will be moving to Chicago.
